The Spectacle of Autumn and Renewal
I had so many plans to write about my odyssey with heart surgery and yet often when you have so much to say you tend to say little. Too much words and ideas all competing for the same time and attention.
No one wants a major surgery to be the center of their life and yet it has taken center stage, in a good way. We take so much for granted in this life, our time, our friends, family, clients and partners: often a catastrophic event is necessary for perspective and appreciation of what we have.
If we all celebrated the value of time and life we live, we might do business better, treat each other a little kinder, take stock in what matters and doesn't.
Aside from the pain of a quadruple bypass -this has been a major, positive life-changing event I wouldn't trade for anything.
Such a strange thing to say, "I wouldn't trade it for anything" but it has changed my life in so many remarkable ways. I am actively enjoying the simple things I have taken for granted. A walk with the dog is less of a chore and more of a chance to enjoy nature and experience moments.
All we have are moments, lots of moments strung together which create memories. Our story, what we do with the good moments and the bad is what creates our attitudes and keeps us connected to something that is larger than ourselves.

This time of autumn and heading into the holiday season, I want to thank everyone who has read my stories, listened and reflected their own stories. We are a community, whether we realize it or not, we can bring each other kindness and concern or we can just allow negativity to consume us, especially in these days where many are angry or offended for something or other.
I hope I add more positivity to my friends, family and my business: I know I have learned much about friends and family through this experience and hope to share the wisdoms of Autumn and a moment of renewal. Peace and Joy.
