Special Memorial Ceremony for Families who lost a Veteran to Suicide

Veterans Counseling Veterans INC and American Legion 15th District Suicide Prevention Committee is holding its 4th Annual Special Memorial Ceremony for Families and Veterans who lost a Veteran to Suicide. The Speakers are military mothers who lost their sons to suicide. This ceremony provides a "safe space" for suicide survivors to recognize their loved ones without worrying about stigmas that are normally associated with Veterans who died by suicide. This event is one of a kind, but it is encouraged that other communities and VSOs have similar events to provide comfort to the families and friends left behind.

The event will be held on 20 May 2018 from 1pm-230pm at 3810 West Kennedy Blvd (AL Post 5), Tampa Florida. All are welcome and please share.

Refreshments will be served upon conclusion of ceremony. We encourage all communities to hold a similar event to recognize our Warriors who lost their battle to the demons at home.

Because there is so much stigma surrounding suicide, it is important for these families to come together to reflect and remember. Helps them to heal. I think this is a fantastic opportunity for family, friends, and the community to support one another in grief and loss. Also, know that, as we go forward, we do so believing in the day when these tragedies will not longer happen. That is my deepest desire and dream. Thank you for sharing!!!
