A Special Invitation to My Newsletter Community

I’m excited to personally invite you to an upcoming event that I believe you'll enjoy: the Parris Lane Jazz Renaissance on January 18, 2025 at Geoffrey’s Inner Circle in Oakland.

As a newsletter subscriber, you’ve been part of this journey with me, and I’d love for you to join me for a truly unique evening of music, culture, and creativity. The event will feature:

• Myself: Emmy-nominated vocalist, blending jazz, R&B, and classical show tunes.
• KJ the Pied Piper: Oakland’s own award-winning LGBT jazz flutist & performer known for dynamic and high energy shows
• Twilight Brass Band: California’s only traditional brass band led by a native New Orleans bandleader.

This night will celebrate the rich tradition of jazz, which was born from the Black experience and continues to thrive through live performance and it’s so important that we continue to honor and celebrate the work of Black artists who shaped this art form. The Parris Lane Jazz Renaissance offers a special opportunity to do just that.

But the celebration doesn’t stop with just music—this will be an immersive experience with acting, dancing, and a variety of other delights that bring the full cultural richness of jazz to life. It’s a night where the performance spills over into something larger than just music—it’s a celebration of the people, the history, and the continuing legacy of jazz.
