Special Feature | Report Launch - Climate Resilient Cities: Assessing Differential Vulnerability to Climate Hazards in Urban India
Delhi, 26 February 2024: The impact of the climate crisis is increasingly becoming evident across the world. However, its effects vary among communities due to social, economic, political, and cultural dynamics. Research across three Indian states reveal inequality as a key driver of climate vulnerability, emphasizing the need for equitable urban development. The new WRI India report ‘Climate Resilient Cities: Assessing Differential Vulnerability to Climate Hazards in Urban India’ presents these critical findings and introduces a unique Climate Hazards and Vulnerability Assessment (CHVA) Framework to assess vulnerability climate risks.
