Special Edition: Two Years in Ukraine
Happy day-back-at-work! This week, we’re focusing on Ukraine. This Saturday marks two years since the start of the war and of Convoy of Hope’s continual response there. As the conflict looms on, our partners have continued helping people through impossible odds. Let’s get into it.
50 million meals served
When the war began in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, it shook not only the lives of Ukrainians, but also surrounding regions — more than 1.7 million Ukrainians fled to bordering countries. Poland welcomed the greatest number of Ukrainian refugees, hosting nearly 60 percent of all refugees from Ukraine, according to the United Nations.
This offered a strategic place for Convoy to procure a warehouse to store incoming supplies and start a full-scale response.
We’re grateful to have served 4.7 million people more than 50 million meals during this crisis — it guarantees that even in times of uncertainty, refugees have food and resources to get them through the next day.
Thank you for your ongoing support in making this happen — you’ve put those meals in people’s hands. ??
Expansion through the region

From (very) big blanket distributions to delivering food amid drone strikes, our partners have been resilient in helping those impacted by the war. Despite winter weather conditions, our team continues to expand across Europe, securing new warehouses so more people can get support. These warehouses store essentials like baby care kits, bottled water, tarps, and clothing, and also supplies like toys, which help children cope with trauma in uncertain times.?
