To DOGE, or not to DOGE??

Is that really the question nowadays? To allow DOGE to continue doing its thing, or not? Man! Things are happening so fast in DC that it’s making Jimmy John’s look slow by comparison. And it’s causing certain folks to “freak!”

Stop and think: who would be opposed to the very needed and sorely overdue light of transparency being shined on the actions of our Government employees and elected officials, whom I may add are accountable to the very people that vote.

It seems like anyone that would be objecting to exposing waste and fraud would be the very ones committing it or the people they hire to protect them from being caught.

When you drain a bathtub, the dirty water goes down. When you drain a swamp, the dirty one’s howl… loudly… before they go down!

BE VERY SUSPICIOUS of anyone standing in DOGE’s way. In order to fix our nation’s fiscal problems and get us back on a firm foundation, we must start purging the rot from within. Honestly, sin is the root problem, and it is rampant everywhere, not just (but especially) inside the “Beltway.”

“DOGE-on!!” (Pronounced: Doe-Jon) Hey, that’s got a nice ring to it!

Since we last updated our outlook (a downgrade on January 27th) the S&P 500 has basically chopped sideways, until the past 4 days. Our Current Market Outlook remains “Uptrend Under Pressure” with a yellow light as of last night’s close (February 18th) with the SPX @ 6,129.58. Our Core Four remains solidly yellow (caution) and has 1 green, 1 red and 2 yellow lights with a VIX sporting a bullish bias while under its 50-day mav.

The stock market is rightfully-so confused and at a crossroads. Little or no price progress has been made in the popular indexes since around December 6th – that’s 2.5 months! This sideways action won’t last indefinitely. A breakout or a breakdown is inevitable. Leading stocks have been flashing some bullish bias, but landmines among them have been occurring as well. There is not much of an “edge” for most growth investors at present.

Under the surface, a reliable and rare technical event regarding daily new lows on the NYSE triggered an early sell signal 2 days ago. The NYSE P/C ratio is a bit low, too, suggesting in the very least that a minor pullback is due.

The tough tariff talk has been given a temporary reprieve and yet could still be a catalyst (in either direction) in the weeks ahead.?

Our nation’s Federal debt level (not to mention municipal, corporate, individual: mortgage, auto and credit cards) is the main hurdle ahead and is ominous. Click here for the US Debt Clock (here). They have even added DOGE to it!! Way to go, Elon and team! You’re somebody now!?

Inflation, it seems, likes America too much and it just won’t leave. We’ve noted that certain commodity indexes and certain individual commodities have been trending gently higher again lately. Also, we’ve observed potential positive technical patterns developing in silver stocks, gold miners and US banks, among others (“cup and handle” patterns). Small/mid-caps aren’t too far behind either. Those ideas are not recommendations; we are just sharing observations.

There are sure to be a lot of fireworks this year, and we probably won’t even have to wait until July. The future winners and losers under this new administration are developing right before investors’ eyes. Keep your eyes focused on the right areas and DOGE on!

Game plan: Continue preparing for the economic battles the new Administration must undertake. Plan your exit strategy should things temporarily take a negative turn. Pray for discernment from the Lord Jesus for yourself and our leaders. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6-7). May they prosper who love her.
