We’ve got a new report for you!

Throughout Q1 we’ve brought you blogs, stats, and an infographic related to reducing avoidable ED visits using digital solutions.

To cap off the quarter, we’ve published a short report packed with the information you need to understand, why emergency departments are overcrowded, what the costs of unnecessary ED visits are, and what technology can do to help alleviate this issue.

Our representatives are on their way home from Nashville after a fun-packed and successful week at ViVE.

We met friends old and new, attended thought-provoking presentations, and engaged in insightful conversations with innovators in the healthcare space. Plus, we joined forces with the teams from Hyro and Kyruus to put on a boot-scootin’ evening of dance with our Healthcare Honky Tonk.

So, what did we learn?

Here are our top 5 takeaways:

  • As part of the digital healthtech ecosystem, we must focus on building trust. Just like we implicitly trust the airline industry or banking system, we need to continue to strengthen patient trust in the healthcare system. Patients entrust us with their most sensitive data, and as AI continues to be a part of the healthcare future, building trust is more important than ever.
  • Health equity needs to be embedded into the fabric of any product development or organization; safety, security measures, ROI, etc. We must focus on creating equitable healthcare as an integral part of any company’s mission. Innovation in the future of healthcare begins with equity.
  • We need each other. Collaboration is key. IT can’t work in a vacuum — neither can R&D teams, the C-suite, software engineers, or providers. Each team is an important component in shaping how we innovate and change the future of healthcare.
  • We live in a world where patient information is exploding. There’s a growing need for health information systems to work together. Interoperability is crucial to deliver safe, effective, patient-centered care and should be kept in mind while developing healthcare products.
  • AI is on the rise, and while there’s much excitement around this technology, we need to make sure that it’s safe at the same time. Patient safety should always be at the center. We observe a growing need for more regulations in this area.
