And if it is in person, why not see what other speaking opportunities are happening while you're there and apply to speak? Leverage your traveling with multiple speaking engagements in the same market area.

Another way to leverage the stage is to use it to build relationships with potential clients. Make sure to network with attendees before and after your speaking engagement. Collect business cards and follow up with people on LinkedIn, within two days if possible. People are busy and move on fast!
You can also use the stage to promote your other products and services. Invite people to your upcoming workshops or invite them for a conversation to see if you/they are a good fit to work together - overall, make it impactful and leverage these opportunities.

4 个月thanks for this insight, especially the last point about building relationships on and off the stage. I can't stand when speakers breeze in for their presentation and skip engaging in the event. In my opinion, the best speakers have a sense for what other topics and ideas were presented at the event and are able to tie in their message to the overall message of the event.
