Speaking to Geosyntec about Sustainability & the Fashion Industry

I was recently invited by Dawson Lindauere to speak at Geosyntec Consultants , a consulting and engineering firm that works with private and public sector clients to address new ventures and complex problems involving our environment, natural resources, and civil infrastructure. They were curious to learn more about the fashion industry’s impact on the planet, what solutions have been successful, and what else could be done to help.

I’m so appreciative of the opportunity to have the fascinating, well-rounded discussion we had. Most of my energy is focused on changing consumer behavior to improve the global conditions, so it was a really refreshing experience to hear brainstormed solutions geared toward process and policy. From human rights impact assessments, supplier risk assessments, local content analysis, and social performance indicators leading to score cards to create systems of accountability with real world implications, I left feeling so optimistic and with even more support with me.
