Speakers Who 'Shake Things Up'? Bring Breakthroughs to Audiences

Speakers Who 'Shake Things Up' Bring Breakthroughs to Audiences

No one wants the speaker at a conference or training to be a dud.?

Audiences that are online or in-person arrive with high hopes. They want the presenter to be successful.?

They want inspiring, informative, and intriguing .?

Most decision-makers book recognizable industry names.?

Millions of dollars are spent every year on outside speakers and consultants.?

And organizations typically see the same challenge cropping up.?

Year after freakin' year.

Leaders with the courage to shake up programs are re-invigorating audiences, sponsors, and vendors.

When "out of the ordinary" experts come in, attendees can see solutions through a fresh lens.??

Here's what I mean.?

Recently, I submitted a proposal to deliver a communications workshop for an association.

Their annual conference is for architects, engineers, and construction managers.?

??I was confident about my topic because I know A/E/C continues to struggle with soft skills.

There are still disconnects in shortlisted interviews and misunderstandings with data sharing . It all cuts into profits.?(sound familiar?)

So the organizers of this conference didn't want my workshop.???

Instead, they booked me for the opening keynote!??

Why would they open their conference without their typical technical presentation?

And with someone who most attendees don't know???

The contact person said my approach to the topic affirmed this conference had to be different than past years. ?

Why? ?

??The communication challenge in A/E/C is complex.

And no one seems to be teaching the higher-level solutions in a way the industry needs to hear it.???

It's frustrating and costly. Add in the labor shortage...and yikes.

You see, I talk about the human beings behind the processes.?

And I go deep.

The organizer trusts the different communication path I've taken.

She believes my fresh and direct speaking style on soft skills will be impactful.?

  • Reading a room and communication modalities
  • Knowing brain science (not scratching the surface with mindset)
  • Building respect and consensus with colleagues and clients

These strategies bring lasting transformation around doer-seller presentations, confidence, and clear communication.?

Before she contacted me, the organizer did her due diligence.

She watched my social media posts and videos.

She determined the group is aligned with my style and message.

We know that keynote speeches set the tone and expectation for what's to come.

And my point person is "relieved" the 2023 conference won't open with yet another tech presentation.???

If we've learned anything from the Pandemic these past three years, know this.

??It is not business as usual.
