Speakers confirmed as CIBSE ANZ Awards night comes together
Nine CIBSE ANZ Young Engineer Awards finalists will come together from the corners of the region for the announcement of the 2019 winners and unveiling of the winning videos.
Finalists include:
JACK PIRIE Young Engineer of the Year: Gareth Arnold, Jack Jeffree, Tommy Sailing
CIBSE ANZ Graduate of the Year: Aaron Hoare, Katherine Jones, Nirodha Siriwardena,
MARK GRIFFIN Student of the Year: Mitchell Peatman Bharat Rasali, Jeff Tsang,
CIBSE welcomes VOS Group, who have come on board to sponsor the 2019 Graduate of the Year.
Mark Griffin (1962 - 2014), who the Student of the Year Award is name for, worked at VOS for 18 years. VOS Group's Paul Smith and Shayne Cornelius knew Mark well.
Paul commented “Both Shayne and I were work colleagues and, I hope Mark would agree, friends. Mark was my boss at VOS for 3 years and longer for Shayne. We will feel privileged to have the opportunity support these awards and to say a few words about Mark on the night”
Also on the night, Yogesh Maharaj, will present the award to the Jack Pirie Young Engineer of the Year, sponsored by Northrop Consulting Engineers and Paul Angus will present the Mark Griffin Award to the Student of the Year, on behalf of AECOM.
Of the 2019 nominations, Senior lecturer at Unitec Institute of Technology & judging panellist, Roger Birchmore commented, “It is gratifying and comforting that so many emerging engineers clearly see the reduction of global warming as a core obligation rather than a nice to have.”
Also at this event, against the backdrop of the Melbourne Gallery, Peter Mathieson, Technical Director at Aurecon, will take to the stage to share his passion for Museums and Gallery building services design.
2019 CIBSE President, Lynne Jack, will join us from overseas, and together with CIBSE members and industry guests, this is set to be a night of networking and celebration.
