Speaker State: Value of Words

Speaker State: Value of Words

Value your words by doing what you say!

It is a simple way to build a connection of?trust and safety?with anyone - your kids, partner, clients, or team - we must do what we say. As a leader, speakers, coaches, or mentors, people follow us because they trust us. They want to become a version of us. They trust that we will do what we say. It takes years of consistency to reach that point and a single moment of carelessness to return to the beginning. And by doing this, we not only cost our relationship but also question our reputation.?

"Your words are valuable. You believe in the worth of your message, and others will too." - Ayesha

By valuing our words, we hold a position to impact, inspire, build credibility, and reflect our professionalism. By treating our words with respect and intention, we can create transformative experiences for our audience, which is vital for establishing a successful speaking career.

Considering the following to make our words and our presence more valuable to the audience and to the world:?

  • Impact on Others: Words can inspire, motivate, educate, and transform lives. As a speaker, our words can influence and shape our audience's thoughts, beliefs, and actions. When we recognize our words' impact, we approach speaking engagements with a greater sense of responsibility and purpose.

"Words have the power to both destroy and heal. When words are both true and kind, they can change our world" - Buddha.?

  • Building Credibility: Valuing our words establishes credibility and trust among our audience. When we consistently deliver meaningful and valuable content, people can relate to our field of expertise. This builds a reputation that attracts more speaking opportunities and allows to command higher fees.
  • Professionalism: Treating our words with value reflects professionalism and respect for our audience. It shows that we have carefully prepared, researched, and crafted our message. This dedication enhances our credibility and increases the likelihood of repeat invitations and referrals.?
  • Reflecting Reputation: As a speaker, our words reflect our reputation. We align our words with our values, expertise, and unique style when we value them. This consistency helps us establish a recognisable brand that differentiates us from other speakers and attracts the right audience.
  • Maximising Engagement: Valuing our words allows us to craft impactful messages that resonate with our audience. We can captivate and engage our listeners by carefully choosing our language, tone, and storytelling techniques. This leads to a more memorable and fulfilling experience for us and our audience.
  • Influence and Inspire Change: Speakers have the potential to inspire change, whether it's challenging societal norms, sharing new ideas, or motivating individuals to take action. By valuing our words, we recognize the opportunity to create a positive impact and drive meaningful change in the lives of our listeners.

These are some points that may help to consider speaking as a medium of reflecting our purpose. Hope these may help you to rethink your words before using them. We need to remember that,

"The spoken word is the most powerful weapon of a leader " - Wilfred Peterson.

Let's value our words, craft them thoughtfully and share them artfully. Let our words inspire, transform, and create a lasting positive impact on our audience and ourselves.

Lots of love,

Ayesha

Ayesha, your piece echoes the wisdom of Lao Tzu and indigenous cultures, who saw words as sacred bonds, commitments to our community and world. This perspective invites us to see our words as seeds with potential to grow into actions and societal norms. Your emphasis on aligning words and actions aligns with regenerative cultures, which value relationships, trust, and reciprocity. When we value our words, we contribute to a culture that respects interconnectedness and recognizes our impact on the world. Your article reminds us that our words, like our actions, shape the world. It invites us to step into our roles as leaders and change-makers with a renewed sense of purpose. Thank you for this insightful piece. Let us strive to value our words and use them to inspire, transform, and create lasting positive impact.
