Speaker Announcement iBAT 4th Annual Conference

We are pleased to announce Jose Antonio Gonzalez Martinez , Project Manager, Belenos Clean Power Holding Ltd and Andrea Ingenito , PhD, Group Leader, CSEM as two of our valuable speakers at the iBAT 4th annual conference.

Jose Antonio Gonzalez Martinez was born and raised in Ponferrada, Spain. In 2002 he moved to Switzerland where he did his Master and Bachelor in chemistry at the EPFL. At the University of Bristol under the co-direction of? Prof. Michael Graetzel (EPFL) he carried out his diploma work on the production of hydrogen by photolysis of water. During his doctoral studies at ETHZ, he acquired experience as an electrochemist in the field of rechargeable batteries and coatings methods of metal nanoparticles for Li-ion batteries. In 2011 he left academia to join Belenos Clean Power Holding. This division of the Swatch Group focuses its R&D activities on the production of a Li-ion battery for automotive applications. Since 2019 as Program Manager he oversee several research projects on polymers and solid state lithium-ion electrolytes, key components of the next generation of Li-ion batteries with special focus on the stabilization of Li metal anodes batteries. The innovation required to the full fabrication of these devices imply physical vapor depositions and for this reason he has been collaborating with the CSEM.

Dr. Andrea Ingenito , holds a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, Italy (2010), and received his Ph.D. in Material Science from TUDelft, Netherlands (2016). In 2016, he embarked on a journey with EPFL, where he lead the activities in thin film coatings for silicon solar cells. His contributions were significant, and in 2019, Dr. Ingenito transitioned to CSEM as a Senior R&D Engineer in the coatings and emerging photovoltaics group. In 2021, he became Group Leader for the Coating for Energy Devices group. In his current capacity, Dr. Ingenito is at the forefront of R&D activities focused on new active materials, interface treatments, and solid electrolyte shaping the next generation of batteries

Jose Antonio Gonzalez Martinez and Andrea Ingenito presents at the iBAT 4th annual conference: Coating for Li-Metal anodes

The Innosuisse project SELMA aims at demonstrating next generation high-capacity Li-metal batteries that are safe, self-healing and long-lasting. Li-metal composite anode using a combination of lithium, artificial SEIs and self-healing layers, which are all deposited by thermal evaporation, are investigated in the project.

Don't wait to find out more, register now. The event is open to everyone and free of charge for iBAT members.
