Arizona State's unexpected run into the College Football Playoff has placed the university and its athletic department ahead of schedule.
The Sun Devils football team shocked many in the college sports world when it won the Big 12 Championship in early December —?the team was picked to finish last in the conference before the season began —?and went on to face Texas in the Peach Bowl in a College Football Playoff quarterfinal game.
Though the Sun Devils ran out of magic on Jan. 1 against the favored Longhorns, losing a 39-31 double overtime thriller, head coach Kenny Dillingham engineered a Cinderella season that has school officials dreaming of a prolonged run of success.
Dillingham has already been rewarded for his shocking turnaround job at Arizona State; the 34-year-old signed a 5-year contract extension before the Peach Bowl that will place him in the "top tier" of Big 12 coaching salaries, according to ESPN. The contract could wind up being extended to 10 years if various incentives are reached, and it reportedly includes discretionary bonus funds for Dillingham to distribute to staff at his discretion.

When Alan Steinberg and Mike McGowan met for lunch at a Scottsdale Cheesecake Factory in 2023, the two former Intel colleagues discussed the emergence of artificial intelligence and its impact on the marketing industry.
McGowan, who was providing machine learning consulting services to clients in a variety of sectors, had an idea for a platform that leverages AI to build high-quality marketing campaigns for businesses. The challenge was that some businesses lacked the time to keep up with updates to their marketing campaigns and didn't have training in prompt engineering to harness the power of AI for industry use.
