03 New procedural modeling tools to quickly build city-level building models
In order to achieve efficient and low-cost batch construction of urban building models, SuperMap has launched a new urban building design capability based on procedural modeling tools. It supports the rapid construction of urban-level 3D building models based on building vector surface data. Currently, urban building models with millions of vector surface data can be completed within 6 hours.
To meet the design needs of different building structures, SuperMap GIS 2024 supports the combination of customized options to build building models of 5 types of roofs with details such as waistlines, including eaves flat roofs, parapet flat roofs, single-slope roofs, double-slope roofs and four-slope roofs.
For different architectural styles such as residential, commercial, and factory buildings, SuperMap GIS 2024 has built-in multiple types of ready-to-use building materials, including 74 sets of building facade maps of ordinary materials and 12 sets of building facade maps of PBR materials. It also supports custom building facade maps, thereby enhancing the diversity and aesthetics of building models.
To further improve overall work efficiency, SuperMap GIS 2024 uses AI image recognition technology to support automatic extraction of building features from image data. Combined with the above-mentioned procedural modeling tools, it can quickly build complex single building models in batches. Currently, SuperMap GIS 2024 can complete the construction of 5,300 building models in an area of 35 square kilometers within 20 minutes.
To lower the user threshold as well as computing resources and labor costs, SuperMap GIS 2024 provides a binary classification pre-trained model for automatically extracting building vector faces, and a building roof classification pre-trained model for automatically identifying roof types.
04 More convenient and practical online 3D geographic design capabilities
In order to further improve the convenience and practicality of online 3D geographic design capabilities, the Web-based 3D geographic design App - SuperMap iDesigner 3D 2024 has optimized capabilities in data access, spatial analysis, scene browsing, scene effects, auxiliary resources, etc.
领英推荐
Data access: support loading GeoJSON data through custom services as source data for modeling; and support adding model objects and annotations to the scene to enrich the scene content.
Spatial Analysis: the capabilities for cutting and filling analysis and sunlight analysis are added to provide decision-making support for design based on the analysis results.
Scene browsing: New functions such as view, roaming, and viewpoint management are added, providing a variety of scene browsing and viewing modes.
Scene effects: Able to simulate sunny, cloudy, overcast, sunrise, sunset and other sky effects through a single picture, and supports simulation of rainy and snowy effects. It also supports the creation, editing, sharing and application of PBR materials, which can effectively enhance the realism of the scene.
Auxiliary resources: it supports for switching between Chinese, English and Japanese languages, online viewing of product function d0cuments, automatic project saving, and provides building stretching and road stakeout example projects that can be viewed and edited.
SuperMap GIS 2024 provides more powerful rule-based modeling, spatial calculation and analysis, and online 3D geographic design capabilities by upgrading the cloud and web integrated 3D geographic design capabilities. In particular, it provides new capabilities for fast and accurate construction of urban building and road models, which can effectively support the implementation of applications such as urban design, transportation design, and urban modeling.
