SparkWheel Staff Selected for Leadership Franklin County
Ottawa, KS – Leadership Franklin County (LFC) is a program of the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce. In partnership with Neosho County Community College and Ottawa University, LFC offers a structured leadership development program that identifies and cultivates leadership skills, creates awareness of challenges and opportunities in our communities, inspires participants to embrace the responsibilities of providing leadership, and encourages action and involvement to enhance the quality of life in Franklin County. SparkWheel Student Support Coordinator Stefani Britton was selected for this year’s class.?
Leadership Franklin County provides a comprehensive nine-month program that requires participants to complete at least eight hours of community service, attend two public meetings, two civic meetings, and two Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce events, and participate in all class sessions. Britton says, “Because of Leadership Franklin County classes, I not only get to build on the leadership skills I already possess, but I get to learn new leadership skills to better help me in my everyday life and work.”?
Britton has been with SparkWheel for the past year and a half and has enjoyed her time as the Student Support Coordinator for Ottawa High School (OHS). She looks forward to all the opportunities and connections she can bring to OHS. “I love that I get to find the value in my students’ lives to show them that no matter what they go through, their life does have a purpose, and they can pave the way for a better future for themselves,” said Britton. Being able to help remove barriers for her students and families so that they can be successful in their lives is a rewarding experience in itself and makes her proud to work for SparkWheel.?
