Last school year, one of the students that SparkWheel worked with in Garden City expressed his appreciation for his Student Support Coordinator (SSC) Sabrina, saying, “She takes the time to talk about real issues, and I have an opportunity to vent in a judgment-free zone when it’s been a rough day." This feedback highlights the vital role our SSCs play in providing not only academic support but also emotional and social guidance.?

Our SSC at Garden City High School has made a significant impact on the student body. Last school year alone, she organized a "Healthy Relationships" presentation, hosted several FutureNow: Finance events, and ran multiple study groups for students. These initiatives have provided students with essential life skills, financial literacy, and academic support, contributing to their overall well-being and success.?

“We are incredibly grateful to Finney County United Way for this grant, which will enable us to continue and expand our programs at Garden City High School,” said Noelle Haselhuhn, Director of Marketing and Communications at SparkWheel. “Their support empowers us to address both the immediate and long-term needs of our students, helping them navigate challenges and achieve their goals.”?

SparkWheel’s mission is to remove barriers and provide those we serve with the tools and resources they need to thrive, now and into the future.
