Keeping Cardiff Metropolitan University stakeholders updated on Research, Innovation & Knowledge Transfer opportunities
Last month the Research and Innovation Services (RIS) team here at Cardiff Met, in partnership with the University of South Wales, organised an exciting business / academic engagement event - 'Sparking Collaboration between Businesses & Universities'.?
The focus of the event was to springboard conversations to initiate active and successful business partnerships. The morning included an inspiring series of topical presentations to facilitate academic and industry connections, which included Geraint Jones, Regional KTP Adviser from Innovate UK-KTN and Natalie Crawley, KTP and Smart Partnerships Manager from Welsh Government.?
Participants also enjoyed presentations from successful collaborations between Universities and Businesses, two of which were projects with Cardiff Met.?The first from Peter Bishop, Founder of Agile Kinetic who spoke about their transformational journey through collaboration with our Cardiff School of Technologies. Secondly, Professor John Littlewood BSc Hons PhD FHEA FCABE FRSA MCIAT MIET , Cardiff School of Art and Design and Richard Hawkins from Sevenoaks Modular presented on the successes created through their award-winning Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP).
With over seventy attendees at the Sparking Collaboration event held at the Village Hotel in Cardiff, the RIS team and Cardiff Met academic staff who attended networked with a number of external businesses with a view to working collaboratively with them in the future.??
