Spare a Thought for the CoPilot - Choose #TeamPaul
Would you get in a car with this man?
I didn’t think so. Now imagine that you’ve got to travel over 800 miles, via a foreign country, in an 18 year old Rover that he just bought for £250.
If you haven't got a clue what I’m talking about (and I’d imagine you won’t), welcome to ‘The Caper’. Have a look here for the full’ish details: https://thecaper.kerboo.com/ or watch the video below.
As a quick summary: Dom and Paul from Kerboo have come up with another daft marketing/charity stunt because they haven't got any proper budget for their new product launch. The general idea is that in just over a weeks time they’ll race to BrightonSEO, from Leeds, via Paris (no idea why), in knackered cars, doing ‘challenges’ along the way. So kind of like a cross between Cannonball Run and Challenge Anneka but without the helicopter, fast cars and lycra (hopefully).
The Unsung Victims
So there's an increasing divide emerging between #TeamDom and #TeamPaul, but we need to take a step back and remember that this isn’t just about Dom and Paul. There will be other people in those cars, and I’m sure we can all agree that it is them that will be facing true hardship on this journey.
I’m not entirely sure how I ended up in this position. It isn’t quite what I’d envisioned when Paul asked if I’d like to go to Paris. I’ve also since been told that I’ve got to decorate a cake en route. What the hell’s that all about?!? I can only assume that BuiltVisible are all bad people for sponsoring said challenge.
The fact that Dom is going to have a qualified mechanic (Mark) onboard seems like cheating to me. It would of course make sense for Paul to take a co-pilot with similar skills, instead he’s got me. What’s most concerning is the (lack of) logic behind Paul’s decision to invite me along. I did put this question to him, but all I got was some rambling about being ginger, hair ratios and Star Wars. I don’t think it’s worth pursuing any further.
I need you!
So here's the deal. I need your support, both emotionally and financially.
Mr Briggs has already led the way in providing #TeamPaul with a bottle of Balvenie 12 year old Caribbean Cask. Let this man be a lesson to you all!
If you don’t want to give us Whisky, help us win instead by donating in the name of TeamPaul.
Oh and it’s all for charity too. Don’t forget about Martin House. You clearly don’t care about us, so do it for the kids; donate now.
What’s in it for you? I’m glad you asked...
- £10 - get your message written on the car
- £25 - get a sticker on the car (cheap advertising)
- £500 - set us another challenge (please be gentle)
Do it here: https://penguinawards.wufoo.com/forms/qwqpl4a154m8p8/
And if you can’t give whisky or cash, please support us via the power of social media. This nonsense is going to take some getting through and we need all the help we can get.
Thanks to those that have donated already or taken the time to abuse #TeamDom. We appreciate your help.
Many thanks in advance for your support, I knew I could rely on you. Now share this with everyone you know.
