The Spanish 'Star-Spangled Banner' Is Being Used to Honor Hispanic Workers Fighting COVID-19.

Hispanic Americans are key contributors to the advancement of the United States. In this time of crisis, we must stay united. The official Spanish version of the U.S. National Anthem has been all but forgotten, but in this moment of national solidarity, it takes on a whole new meaning. It is a U.S. official manifestation of this co-existing reality at the hearts and in the patriotism of the Hispanic community.

75 years ago, President Franklin D. Roosevelt commissioned an official Spanish version of the National Anthem, a version particularly relevant today representing Hispanic Americans. As US Hispanics are disproportionately affected by #COVID19, let’s take action together to support recovery. Our country needs solidarity, community, and resilience during these challenging times.

Celebrating Hispanics as Americans on the front lines of this pandemic. Bringing communities together and honoring those that we have lost. Let’s support one another during this challenging time. Let’s take action together to support this community and our country.

As a #HispanicStar and #HispanicStarAlliance member, I am so honored & extremely proud to share this historic story! Enoy! Disfuta!
