The Spanish ???? cultural heritage and its invaluable contribution to the Americas.

Not long ago we reflected on the transcendence of the arrival of the Spaniards to the Americas, an odyssey that forged an insoluble bond between Spain and the American continent.

The arrival of Spain to our lands marked the beginning of an era of fusions and challenges. The Spanish culture has permeated almost every facet of our societies; the Spanish language, our traditions, and our collective history have their roots in those tumultuous but fruitful times.

The almost 500 million Spanish speakers worldwide are irrefutable proof of this influence, facilitating dialogue and cooperation between our nations.

It is necessary to underscore that the humanist philosophy and Roman law, Spanish legacies, have been pillars in forming our legal and civic systems.

Spain has been a major economic partner in America, with investments and bilateral cooperation that have fostered innovation and sustainable development in key sectors such as energy and technology.

Today's Spain, with its vibrant democracy and diversity, reflects the ability to adapt and evolve while keeping an eye on its rich legacy.

We recognize Spain's contributions to our collective identity and the resilience and richness of keeping our traditions alive. It is also important to highlight the importance of the intercultural dialogue that Spain has promoted, an example of how strong democratic institutions, cooperation, and mutual respect strengthen our bilateral ties.

As an active member of the European Union, Spain has emerged as a standard-bearer in promoting progressive change towards environmental sustainability and social equity.

This Spanish commitment is deeply aligned with the aspirations and urgencies of the Dominican Republic, which sees the ecological transition not only as a global imperative but as a unique opportunity to revitalize its economy safeguard the natural resources that define its heritage, and sustain its development.

Investment in renewable energies and social justice practices resonates with the Dominican need to create an inclusive and resilient socioeconomic fabric, putting collective well-being and respect for nature at the heart of its progress.

The Spanish model is a beacon of inspiration for the Dominican Republic, which seeks in international cooperation the impetus to forge a future where prosperity goes hand in hand with environmental responsibility and social justice.

Invoking the wisdom of Miguel de Cervantes: "Trust in time, which usually provides sweet solutions to many bitter difficulties", let us echo these words in our common agenda. We face global challenges that require collective and solidary action. Cervantes' wisdom invites us to persevere, to build a more just and sustainable future.

Today, we reaffirm our deepest respect and admiration for the Spanish people and their contribution to the Americas. Furthermore, we take this opportunity to renew our faith in the future and our ability to build it together. With vision, humility, hope, unity, and fraternity, we will overcome the challenges and forge a new path of progress.

The spirit of brotherhood and cooperation must be the light that guides our joint path towards new heights of understanding, prosperity and peace. The Dominican Republic values, appreciates and treasures its relationship with Spain, one of the most precious ties of our diplomatic and cultural fabric.

In this note of gratitude, I cannot fail to mention Her Excellency Carmen Montón Giménez , who strengthens the bridges that unite us with her tireless work.
