This email came through using our special GDPR Data Controller email!

Irony upon irony on so many levels! :( But can you spot them all...?

Hi,
I was going through your company website. Thought I'd leave a note
I noticed that your company also specialises in  Fire and Security Industry  and as we expertise in leveraging the busines potential of comapnies in their Marketing or Sales campaigsn with our clientele.
Specialties:  Security & IT Professionals, Firefighters, Emergency Centers, Emergency rescue teams, Risk managers, Maintenance managers, Fire & Safety Officials, Security Services Providers, Fire Equipment Manufacturers  etc.
Let me know if having direct access to such active business profiles would be of an interest to you?
If yes, then lets get started with the areas you are currently focusing on:
Target Industry:___________?
Target Location: ____________?
Target Job Titles: ____________?
If this is not your interest right now, I still thank you for your time.
With Best Regards,

I now get spam from the UK Prime Minister through the Conservative Party with no way of unsubscribing. ?The unsubscribe link (I never subscribed in the first place) just takes you to a page to change your email address but no other options. ?I am considering reporting to the ICO.

I agree with all the comment and not sure what I expected either - there is still all the usual spam coming in and even some I’ve never seen before. I guess with all the public profiles on websites, social media etc it is perhaps not as simple as a past GFPR date to change the spam flow...

Jo, presumably with a contact us box on your website, or the odd email address kicking around there too then surely you expect to receive contact from others as part of a marketing exercise, I think there is a misconception that GDPR stops all inward communication, however that’s not the case... I would say this is a completely legitimate marketing email, GDPR is not designed to stop inward marketing or control it. This is spam so there are other control measures that do.

My euphoria was short lived too. I wonder if things will change when some of the UK based spammers are prosecuted? Or should that be "if"?
