Space South Central SPINtern - We are happy to announce that we will be hosting a Marketing and Communications SPINtern this year, alongside many companies and universities from the region!
Space South Central region perfectly placed to capitalise on government’s new space plan - The Space Industrial Plan: From ambition to action – advancing UK Space Industry, is a joint civil-defence plan that sets out to ‘modernise the relationship between government and the commercial space sector, establishing clear visions, missions, and actions to unlock growth and develop resilient space capabilities’.
Funding boost for cutting-edge facilities and new technology at SSTL - Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) will get £250,000 towards cutting-edge facilities at its Guildford base after winning a project from the UK Space Agency’s Space Clusters Infrastructure Fund (SCIF).
‘Smaller, cheaper and faster satellites’: how industry-academic partnerships are changing missions to space - Dr Lucinda King from the Institute of Cosmomolgy and Gravitation spoke to the Guardian about how the University of Portsmouth are working with the space industry to speed up the design and evaluation of missions – with the aim of making the UK a leader in the sector using their Space Mission Incubator.?

Don’t forget to also join our Fit4Space sessions straight after Orbit South Central. This month, technical experts from Airbus will be covering space systems.
Investment and Pitch Readiness Webinar - Space South Central next webinar in our webinar series will be on investment and pitching, online April 12th! The session will be led by Dr. Chris Hobbs. Chris is a business consultant and a Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence at Southampton University, helping academics to commercialize their research.
