Space Shuttle Endeavor: Witnessing Technology and History Fuse

If you're in LA and have an afternoon to see the space shuttle Endeavor, it's well worth it.
Located at the California Science Center - the shuttle Endeavor is housed in its own building. And getting to see was a bit of a maze.
Be prepared. If you're a bit like me—a sci-fi geek—the magnificent size of the space craft with knock-the-wind out of you.
The body length is approximately 5 school buses long —as shown in one of the models.
I'm told they currently hold parties there! How fun!
What struck me are the millions of parts that hold the shuttle together. Millions of parts that hold patents. Imagine... one of your parts on the next shuttle or space station?
While it's currently positioned laying down -and raised to walk under- it will be re-homed in a few years, standing upright. The center has plans to build an extension where it will be reunited with the fuel tank enclosed within a gorgeous facility with the doors open.
Again, the millions of ideas-turned-product that are being used to craft the building to host the space shuttle! Are one of them yours?
Also, it would be riveting to watch as they install Endeavor into its new home.
Since I'm sure they won't allow onlookers to stand and gawk as they move the shuttle into the new facility—wouldn't it be cool if they set up a webcam to give us ring-side seats?
