We are delighted that @JanePoynter Founder, Co-CEO will be keynoting FTE - Follow the Entrepreneur WINTER in Zurich on the 25th January: https://ftewinter.com

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The world's only carbon-neutral spaceflight (no rockets, heavy g-forces)
  • Quintessential astronaut experience of seeing Earth from space
  • Pressurized capsule accommodates eight Explorers and a Captain
  • 1,650+ tickets sold = $200M+ in bookings ($400M+ by EOY 2024)
  • ~$70M?raised via notable VCs like Prime Movers Lab and LightShed Ventures
  • CEOs founded space tech companies including Paragon Space Development

OPPORTUNITY

Private Space Travel Is Here

  • Demand is huge, but supply is limited
  • Private space travel TAM: $0.5T+
  • 2030 market size estimate: $9B+
  • Market is supply-side limited since there are so few operators

We Are Reimagining the Spaceflight Experience

?Rockets Are for the Few

  • Inaccessible:?High g-forces, rigorous training, perception of danger
  • Short experience:?Only 3-5 minutes to see Earth in space
  • High price:?$450K-$1M+ for suborbital, $50M+ for orbital spaceflight
  • Unsustainable:?Big carbon output (high-energy rocket acceleration)

?Space Perspective Is for the Many

  • Accessible: Pressurized capsule traveling ~12 mph (like being on an airplane)
  • Lengthy experience: Six hours of breathtaking views in a lounge
  • Low price: $125K is significantly lower than all other options
  • Sustainable: As gentle on our Explorers as they are on our Earth

One World, One Mission

Space Perspective is driven by a desire to share the transformative power of space travel with as many people as possible. Only roughly 600 people have ever been to space. And we know that looking down on planet Earth from the deep blackness of space – the quintessential astronaut experience – will radically shift one’s perception of our world and our place within it. Astronauts often return from missions with a fire inside them; many get involved in environmental and societal causes. Often referred to as the overview effect, we call this the Space Perspective, and it has the power to change the future of our planet and humanity for the better. Explorers will not only become part of space history, but also leave with a greater understanding of our world and our place within it.?

Introducing Spaceship Neptune

Spaceship Neptune, which comprises a pressurized capsule propelled gently by a SpaceBalloon?, offers a safe and accessible six-hour journey to space.?Those who fly with Space Perspective, which is being regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration and follows guidelines established by NASA and the U.S. Coast Guard, enjoy unprecedented views of our planet through the largest windows ever flown to space.?

  • Capsule:?Inside the pressurized capsule, Explorers will?enjoy a world-class meal and cocktail service, Wi-Fi, and a lavatory (Space Spa) – all from the comforts of the world’s first Space Lounge.
  • SpaceBalloon?:?Our trademarked SpaceBalloon flight system carries the capsule from launch to landing. Balloons have been safely flown to over 100,000 feet more than a thousand times by NASA, Space Perspective team members, and other reputable entities
  • Reserve Descent System:?In the unlikely event of an emergency, there is a system between the capsule and the SpaceBalloon that can safely land the capsule at any time; it's one that's routinely used by the U.S. government with payloads heavier than our own capsule.

Flight Plan

Launching from our world-class vessel, Marine Spaceport (MS) Voyager, the first marine spaceport for human spaceflight, Spaceship Neptune ascends two hours at a slow 12 mph to apogee, where it remains for another two hours. When it's time to return, Spaceship Neptune descends two final hours until it reaches the ocean for a gentle landing thanks to our patented Splashcone, which attenuates the splashdown and stabilizes the capsule. Two fast boats then arrive to take the capsule back to MS Voyager, and a custom A-Frame lifts the capsule back up onto the ship. After that, it’s about enjoying a series of post-flight celebratory rituals.

BUSINESS MODEL

A Value-Driven Approach

  • $125K per ticket (eight seats, $1M per flight)?
  • 75% gross margin
  • 3K projected sales by EOY 2024 at commercial flight ($400M bookings)
  • Rapid scale through duplicating operations in key global markets
  • Each marine spaceport can carry two spaceships with roughly 140 commercial flights per year, which translates to $140M in revenue
  • Planning future capsule design for twice the carrying capacity

Vision and Strategy

Diverse Customer Segments

From space and tech enthusiasts and early adopters to adventure travel to those seeking indelible memories for their friends and family and still others wanting to achieve a higher consciousness, the appeal of a life-changing journey with Space Perspective is boundless.?

Proven Sales Strategy

With a strong marketing, direct and trade approach, not to mention acute channel tactics, sales continue to gain momentum and find incredibly engaged audiences and evangelists of the Space Perspective brand.?

FUNDING

Bedrock Investment

~$70M raised to date (fully funded through commercial flight) via notable venture capital funds, including Prime Movers Lab, LightShed Ventures, and Henry Kravis's new fund, Stonecroft Management.?

LEADERSHIP

Serial Space Founders,?Jane?Poynter & Taber MacCallum

Poynter and MacCallum are 35-year veterans of human spaceflight. Both were members of the original eight-person crew that lived inside Biosphere 2, the first prototype space base built and operated.?Prior to Space Perspective, MacCallum and Poynter founded World View, a stratospheric balloon company focused on remote sensing and communications, as well as Paragon Space Development Corporation, specializing in life support and thermal control systems in extreme environments. Paragon’s systems are still used on the International Space Station, by NASA, major aerospace companies and the U.S. military. In 2014, Google executive Alan Eustace chose Paragon to realize his dream of breaking the world freefall record, previously held by Felix Baumgartner and the Red Bull Stratos team, in what was called the StratEx project. StratEx now holds the record for the highest-flying human under a space balloon, having flown Eustace to 136,000 feet. Eustace is a founding board member of Space Perspective.?
