Who doesn't love the concept of a space elevator?!

Simple and cheap access to space - and eco-friendly.

Once built its self-sustaining. Once the investment is made, everything else is free!

As described in the video, there are a whole host of engineering and practical challenges associated with the concept of space elevators - but just think of the opportunities!

Maybe the Fountains of Paradise are closer than we think?
