The Space Economy A – Z: A Modern Take

The commercialization of space can be traced back to the advent of satellite TV in 1962, which led to the launch of commercialized space race rockets and satellites. NASA's space lingo, which has been dominant for the past 30 years of Space Shuttle and 24 years of International Space Station service, is now antiquated and in need of an update to keep up with the "new" Space Economy.

As more than 5,000 companies have already entered and thousands more are expected to join the space economy, a mixed bag of terminologies has emerged at all levels. The very definition of the Space Economy itself has been manipulated to attract mission exposure and financial donations.

For instance, the private Space Economy has been in existence for over 60 years (since 1962) and is now simply referred to as the Aerospace Industry. With the ever-evolving landscape of the Space Economy, it's crucial that new terminologies are introduced to keep pace with the industry's growth.

First we have the private Space Economy for 60 years and counting (1962). The Space Industry is called the Aerospace Industry.
