Pumeza, one of SP-Wind's skilled instructors, recently embarked on an inspiring journey to Egypt to deliver Basic Technical Training (BTT) to a group of eager participants. Her experience highlights the growing global demand for skilled wind industry professionals and SP-Wind’s commitment to sharing expertise across borders.

What was your initial reaction when you were told you’ll be giving BTT training in Egypt?

It was one of excitement and curiosity. Egypt has such a rich history and culture, so I was looking forward to experiencing a new environment while also delivering valuable training. I also recognized that this opportunity would present unique challenges and learning experiences.

How did the participants in Egypt engage with the material, and were there any notable differences compared to other courses you’ve delivered?

The participants in Egypt were very engaged, with a strong focus on hands-on learning and real-world application. They were eager to ask questions and share experiences. They appreciated understanding the "why" behind technical procedures, which helped build trust in the material.

Can you share any memorable moments from the training that stood out to you, either from the participants or your own experiences?

One memorable moment was when Ahmed asked for my SP-Wind t-shirt, comparing me to a football star as he referred to why he was asking for it.

What feedback did you receive from the participants, and how did it impact your approach to future training?

The feedback I received was that I am a good instructor and that participants wanted to connect with me on LinkedIn for future questions or assistance was very rewarding.

How has this experience influenced your growth as an instructor, and how will you apply it to your future training sessions?

It has significantly influenced my growth as an instructor by teaching me the importance of flexibility and cultural sensitivity in training. Moving forward, I’ll apply these lessons by continuing to be flexible in my approach and being mindful of the specific needs and cultural contexts of future training groups.
