Padel Haus to open in Nashville this summer
A New York City-based padel club is coming to South Nashville, its first out-of-market location.
“Nashville has undergone a real renaissance in recent years, as evidenced by the opening of other lifestyle brands such as Soho House and 1 Hotel, amongst many others,” said Santiago Gomez, founder and CEO of Padel Haus, in the release. “Over the last 18 months, we have seen just how much New York City has taken to this incredible sport, and as a creative city that thrives on new trends, I am convinced that Nashville is the ideal place to launch our first location outside of NYC. The fact that we are first to market give us a competitive advantage and an interesting challenge ahead.”
Similar to pickleball, padel sport is played on a smaller court than a traditional tennis court, however padel is played in an enclosed space, allowing players to bounce the ball off the walls. ?|? Read more.

Nashville health care firm moves HQ to Neuhoff
Germantown’s Neuhoff District has secured another major office tenant.
Nashville-based health care investment firm Rubicon Founders signed a 16,000-square-foot lease in Neuhoff’s adaptive reuse office building.
Atlanta-based development firm New City Properties, led by Jim Irwin, is charting the redevelopment of the Neuhoff meat-packing plant, an assortment of old brick buildings on East Germantown’s riverfront.
“We are thrilled and humbled that Rubicon has selected Neuhoff for their Nashville headquarters. When we first began to conceive of the project, Rubicon was exactly the type of blue-chip company that we hoped would find a home there,” Irwin said. | Read more.

Hiding in plain sight: Inside Germantown's creative mecca
One of Nashville’s trendiest neighborhoods has been keeping a secret.
Look for a long brick building on Taylor Street with a white top — the one with a teal “100” painted on the side. More than anywhere else in town, it’s the place with perhaps the largest and widest array of creativity and authenticity per square foot.
Today, it contains everything under the sun, including a studio with stained-glass creations and a tattoo shop named Sunrise. Other artisans make pottery, porcelain, jewelry, hats, moisturizers, portrait photography, vintage-inspired lingerie. There are architects, music business managers, film directors, writers, florists, hair stylists. You can have a coffee or a beer, or you can drink at a studio where you’ll learn how to pot and care for a houseplant. There are counselors and therapists, one of whom you’ll find in the old flour mill’s walk-in safe.?NBJ photographer Martin B. Cherry takes you inside. | Read more.
