SOUTHLAND Recognizes 134 Employees at the Southern Alberta Long Service Awards

March 11th was a very big night for the 134 SOUTHLAND drivers who gathered at the at Wainwright Hotel in Calgary for the annual Long Service Awards. 165 people - including the recipients and their guests, special guests, and management attended the banquet for the Calgary and Area employees.

The 25-year award winners deserve a little extra recognition for their exemplary service to Southland. So, we’d like to give a special shoutout to Sue van Steenoven, Michelle Smith, and David Smith. Thank you for your service!
Each year of service award comes with a different monetary amount from which employees can choose. The selection of store gift cards features Costco, Walmart, Best Buy, Home Depot, and Cross Iron Mills. At the 10-year mark and above, they can select a personalized company watch.
We also invited our R.B. Colborne Award of Excellence Recipient, Mark Pulfer and our recent President Club inductees to show our gratitude for their commitment to SOUTHLAND Transportation.
It’s imperative that SOUTHLAND Transportation hosts these types of events, as Loyalty and Dedication are two of our most important Core Values. Recognition of employees who embody these Core Values is essential not only for the employee, but for the entire company.
We genuinely enjoy the act of the celebration and the togetherness it provides us. It’s important to reach out to those coworkers we may not always see and ensure they know how truly valued they are.
On Saturday, March 18th, Medicine Hat and Lethbridge hosted their own banquets to honour the Long Service recipients in their respective areas.
