SOUTHLAND Halifax Operations Manager Helps Employees After Hurricane Fiona
Pacific Western Transportation Ltd
Pacific Western Transportation (PWT) is the largest privately-held passenger transportation company in Canada
Hurricane Fiona hit Halifax in late September and caused large amounts of damage to properties, loss of power and blocked roads all over the province. Knowing many of the SOUTHLAND Halifax employees would be without power and water, Halifax Operations Manager Coady MacNeil jumped into action.
In the aftermath of the hurricane, he went to the Halifax office to fire up the trusty BBQ to cook burgers and hot dogs for those who were unable to get a hot meal at home. He also did a great job of ensuring his team was ready to tackle operations quickly after the storm passed and the schools were back in session. Thanks to his Leadership and hard-working staff, operations bounced back.
Coady also booked a hotel room for a few days and gave employees access when they needed a place to take a hot shower or just charge their electronics. The hotel even let some of the employees take advantage of the complimentary breakfast they offered. Along with Coady, the whole SOUTHLAND Halifax team showed an incredible outpouring of Teamwork, offering each other places to cook, clean and recharge.?
The Halifax team continues to keep each other updated on the status of their routes, offering each other help, and fostering an environment of Safety, Teamwork and Dedication. Thank you to Coady MacNeil and the other Southland employees for exemplifying our Core Values.?
