Southern Cranes and Access adds 2 x New Tracked Carriers.

Southern Cranes & Access Ltd is a lifting equipment specialist founded and run by the Sadler family. It has provided?mobile crane hire, contract lifting and powered access solutions to southern and south-east England for more than 25 years.

The company was one of the first to invest in machines from Tracked Carriers and has recently refreshed its hire fleet with two new 2200 Pro machines. Both the new units have the optional enhanced battery pack as well as featuring Tracked Carriers’ new controllers.

“A lot of our work is on the railways and those jobs naturally have very tight, clearly defined time windows. The upgraded battery packs are vital to ensure that the Tracked Carriers can keep working throughout those periods without needing a break to recharge.

“We were one of the first companies to buy Tracked Carriers as we could clearly see the benefits to our business. A lot of those old Victorian-era sub stations on the rail network are hard to access so the compact dimensions of the Tracked Carriers really come into play here.

“In many cases we’re having to transport materials across fields to reach the sub-stations, so we need rough terrain capabilities. We’re also currently using them on a waterworks job as they have no hydraulics so there’s no risk of contamination from those machines, which is ideal.”
