Southern Cornbread
I’m a Southern guy. I grew up eating Southern cornbread. It’s the kind that is cooked in an old black iron skillet. It’s not the sweet cornbread mix but it is made from a recipe that is handed down through generations. ?There is just something about the wonderful smell, crispy edges and incredible taste that I love. I know when I’m eating cornbread if it is truly “southern” cornbread or if it is some kind of mix that just doesn’t quite measure up to the original.
The same is true of relationships. Healthy ones have a recipe that defines the success, effectiveness, and fulfillment of the relationship. It is not complicated but finding the right chemistry with someone takes being intentional and putting the needs of others before your own. It requires us to learn to speak the emotional or personality language of the other person. It also requires us to learn the skill of listening.
The good news is that we can learn how to use the recipe of having successful relationships in our lives. Take a minute to listen to this short podcast episode where we talk about finding the right mix or chemistry in our relationships. It may be just what you need to improve your connection with others.
Finding?the right mix in our relationships is a powerful way to make a difference in the lives of others.
