Exciting times ahead as South Tyneside Launches Green Energy Initiative with Rugby Star Martin Offiah as Brand Ambassador
In a landmark event demonstrating the region’s commitment to a sustainable future, Connected Kerb, in partnership with South Tyneside Council, officially launched a long-term electric vehicle (EV) charging initiative last week. Present was former England and Rugby League star, Martin Offiah M.B.E , who is the brand ambassador for Connected Kerb and serves as the face of this ambitious plan to install bespoke EV chargers across the borough. The launch event, held at ‘The Word,’ South Tyneside’s cultural and community hub, marked the beginning of a five-year mission aimed at driving sustainable transport.
Chris Pateman-Jones , CEO of Connected Kerb, commented: “We’re proud to launch the South Tyneside EV project with Martin Offiah MBE, marking the start of an electrifying era for the region. This initiative, more than just installing EV chargers, is about shaping a sustainable future and setting a precedent for others to follow.”
As a trusted partner to Connected Kerb, our Green Energy team at HF was proud to attend this ground breaking event. As a leading electrical contractor, we have been at the forefront of delivering green energy solutions throughout the UK. With the expansion of our green energy services which range from EV charging installations to solar panels, LED lighting upgrades, and battery storage systems, this news aligns perfectly with the nation’s journey towards achieving net-zero emissions. This EV project is a key example of our collective commitment to creating a greener, cleaner future.
Connected Kerb’s Bespoke EV Charging Solution
The event showcased Connected Kerb’s 7kW EV chargers, which were specifically designed for this South Tyneside project. These state-of-the-art units are a testament to the company’s innovative approach, featuring a bespoke design that not only caters to local needs but also helps reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality throughout the region. The sleek chargers are built to blend seamlessly into the environment, while offering durability and ease of use for EV drivers. Their installation will help promote the wider adoption of electric vehicles among residents and visitors alike.
The EV chargers are just the beginning of this five-year project, which aims to transform South Tyneside into a greener borough. Council members are hopeful that the project will help lay the groundwork for sustainable infrastructure and encourage more people to switch to electric vehicles.
From our Green Energy team at HF, we want to give a special thank you to Jonathan Barlow of South Tyneside Council who has been instrumental in the success of the project to date. Without Jonathan’s drive and assistance, the programme would not be as advanced as it is. In addition to South Tyneside Council , all those involved from Northern Power grid and in particular David Redmayne who has tirelessly supported us during the rollout which again has contributed to the seamless progress of the project.
Finally, thank you to our strategic partners Connected Kerb . They have been a constant source of support and information for us throughout the project and in particular to Mitch Burgess and his team who has ensured a successful delivery platform to date and understands the importance of safety and getting things right first time.?#Onedreamoneteam
