Bed bugs are parasites that feed on blood. They feed only on blood and unfortunately, their main food source is human (CO2 source attracts the bedbugs).

Parasitism?is a close relationship between species, where one organism,?the parasite, lives on or in another organism, the host,?causing it some harm and is adapted structurally to this way of life.??

The?Entomologist E.O. Wilson?characterized parasites as?“predators that eat prey in units of less than one”.?

Ectoparasites are organisms that live on the surface of the human body. Examples of ectoparasites are BEDBUGS,?human fleas, leeches, and lice. On the other hand,?Endoparasites, such as worms and flukes (by chance),?live inside the human body.

Recently, “The first bedbug report was in October at a public bath house in Incheon, which led to a business closure. Not long after, a college in Daegu, south of the capital city of Seoul, reported a student who was bitten by bedbugs in their dormitory.”

Ectoparasites are organisms that live on the surface of the human body.??On the other hand,?endoparasites, such as worms and by chance (flukes), live inside the human body. Ever since, bedbug eyewitness accounts, particularly concerning public facilities and accommodations, have been piling up while the government is still trying to figure out how to solve the problem.”?

“Seoul’s Metropolitan Government brought up measures to prevent the bedbugs from spreading by steam cleaning and sterilising buses, subways and taxis and examining poorer housing areas, accommodations and bathhouses where bedbugs are historically likely to spread.”

The issue is multifold: Health Authorities in the country and the Hospitality Industry. Dormitories of Universities is a shocking major apocalypse.?

“Based on the experience of disinfection management during the pandemic, the government is going all-out to provide safe transportation to citizens,” Yoon Jong-Jang, who is in charge of Seoul city’s transportation, told ABC News.?

South Korea has essentially been free of bedbug issues since the 1970s when the government implemented insecticides nationwide, resulting in just nine bedbug cases reported in the last decade, according to the Ministry of Disease Control and Prevention Agency.

“The fear among people is high as bedbugs still sound foreign to Korean people. Not many people know what a bedbug looks like,”?disinfection specialist Park Jun Sang of the Korea Pest Control Association told ABC News.??“There are several cases where a disinfection team arrives to eradicate bedbugs, but it turns out the damage results from different insects.”?

Bedbugs are not emerging from poverty-stricken third-world countries alone. The travel and hospitality industry will pay the price if they cringe at rules and regulations to stop the invasion of an entire nation. Staying in low-cost dormitories not governed by health authorities can lead to low-cost attraction for the travellers on the owners’ part.??Not spending to eliminate the pest is the negligence of low-cost hotels and inns, and travellers pay a low price to stay but a high price for health, leading to epidemics and pandemics.

There are rising concerns over bedbugs in South Korea, with at least thirty cases reported as of Monday.

Authorities will conduct intense inspections and pest control on transportation and accommodation facilities for four weeks.

South Korean authorities are fighting bedbugs amid growing public concern as the number of outbreaks, as the special response team reported on Monday, surpassed thirty.

The first outbreak was reported in September, followed by reports in seventeen regions across South Korea, including cities and provinces.

In November, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety launched a unique response to contain the growing bedbugs infestations.

However, as the number of outbreaks increased, the matter was elevated to be overseen by the Prime Minister’s Office.

In response to concerns about the effectiveness of currently approved bedbug pesticides available domestically, the government has promptly imported alternatives.

And on the back of reports of bedbug infestations in France and the UK, demand for bedbug repellent in the local market has surged this year.

According to reports on Monday, sales of bedbug repellent increased by eight hundred and thirteen per cent from the end of October to the 6th of November.

Sales of mattress vacuum cleaners also increased by six-hundred-and-ten per cent.

In addition, demand for products like bedbug traps, which were not popular last year, has also increased.

Bedbugs do not transmit disease; however, the bites from these blood-feeding insects can cause itching and lead to secondary skin infections due to scratching.

Guidelines published by the government say that when bedbugs are discovered, high-temperature steamers and repellents are effective.??When bitten by bedbugs, washing the area with water and soap is advised.

A visit to the doctor may also be required, depending on symptoms.

Authorities also advise that travellers thoroughly disinfect luggage before storing it for an extended period to eradicate them.

Before the latest bedbug outbreak in South Korea, only nine such reports had been submitted to the government since 2014.

While the government is researching how to implement a different type of pesticide to tackle bedbugs, the Korea Airports Corporation announced a plan on Wednesday to examine all airports in the country to find signs of bedbugs to stem any inflow from overseas.

Bedbugs enter through the tiniest cracks to settle themselves and are vampire-like, sucking blood.

Gross: A report showed that Jails are not excluded from bedbug infestation. Thompson, 35,?died in the Fulton County Jail?on the 13th of September 2022. Attorneys for his family claimed Thompson was “eaten alive by bed bugs.”

The Olympics in France is in the coming year and is on war with the Bug that Bites and sucks blood. France eliminated bedbugs in 1950.
