- The annual inflation rate in the US slowed for a sixth straight month to 6.5% in December of 2022, per the Consumer Price Index Report released last Thursday. Inflation seems to have peaked at 9.1% in June of 2022 but it still remains far above the Fed's 2% target. The Fed will continue their attempts to cool the labor market until they get inflation where they want it.
- US Initial Unemployment Claims (the number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits) fell to 205,000 on the week ending Jan. 7th, per the Weekly Claims Report released last Thursday. - For workers that have jobs that can be done at home, 32.3% work fully on-site, 46.6% work hybrid, and 21.1% work fully from home, according to WFH Research's January Report , released last Monday.
