Sourcer Or Recruiter: Which is the best career choice for your skills??
Let’s first discuss how Sourcers and Recruiters are aligned in the process that culminates in closing a candidate search. Here is the lifecycle, beginning with an
- Intake call: a recruitment search starts with the recruiter and the Sourcer participating in an intake call with the Hiring Manager to understand the open role;?
- Candidate sourcing: the Sourcer - with a variety of different sourcing techniques - helps to?build a good robust pipeline of candidates. In some bigger companies a Sourcer’s work ends here;
- Candidate screening: the Sourcer works with the candidate through initial screening, to ascertain the required information about experience, and, if the candidate skill matches well and is interested in the role, the process moves to the next stage – interview. At this point the Sourcer hands off to the Recruiter, though a full cycle recruiter also does the work of a Sourcer in small/medium sized companies.
- Final Interview: the recruiter works with the candidate and the panel members to get interviews arranged. The recuiters prepare candidates and share enough information as to what to expect at final interview.
- Final offer: this is the most crucial part, where the recruiter must be skilled at negotiating with the candidate in such a way as to close the search to everyone’s satisfaction.
