“When you love your river you celebrate his/ her? birthday.” Rosa the young lady organized the Nachente Festival in the small village close to Leiria, in Portugal.? In the place where the Liz River finds its way out of the ground. The Liz is streaming through the city. On its banks, there were mills where locals produced their flour and paper from the Middle Ages.
“Once a year we build small stages on the river. We invite local musicians to herald their special voices and glorify the stream in their own way.
On Saturday morning I joined a special acoustic tour. Our tour guide, Luís Antero, an artist and filmmaker had a special recording device attached to a long stick.
We got special headphones that were attached. We walked slowly on the river bank.?
At first, it was a strange feeling to hear unknown sounds from the bushes. Sound that has no name but strong characteristics. Slowly, I felt that the special sounds were part of my bloodstream. I felt like living in a new habitat.?
In my eyes, good art would expand your horizons. I thanked Luis and my partners for the soundscape walk and for the option to experience a new dimension in this world.
