The Sound of Silence

When I first posted my article about ‘‘Know yourself before knowing others ’’ where I emphasized how it’s important to know ourselves from the inside and how it can help us to expand our potential without limits, I invited everyone to seek for his own method to deep dive inside the Self through maybe some research on Internet where a lot of resources are available on the subject.

For this article, and getting inspired from discussions with some friends, I decided to share my own method, the one that I found fitting to me, still I’m at the beginning on my own road.

TIP n° 1: Connect with your Self

Your Self is all the way talking to you, giving you signals, messages, calls…, but to listen to him, you should learn his language, which is ‘‘the Sound of Silence’’.

Your Self will not talk to you through your language or your thoughts, but he will rather give you a lot of information through dreams, emotions, imagination, intuition, and sometimes to insist when you still ignore him, through diseases.

Your Self is all the time with you, inside you, and all you need is through his Sound of Silence, listen to him and converse with him.

Your best way to do so and connect with your Self is through meditation. Again, for this tip, there is a lot of possibilities and resources that everyone can find on Internet. Just experience some and find the one that fit you the best and works for you. The same for the time to choose to meditate, some will find it easier and more insightful by the morning, others by the evening before going to bed; whatever it is, choose the time that fit the more for you.

TIP n° 2: Free you mind

During your past life and your socialization process, you’ll acquire a lot of programs that you will adopt just like mechanisms in your mind to define your posture, your judgement, or your actions towards situations in life. This programing of your mind if you choose all the way to fit to it, will lead you to miss a lot of opportunities and possibilities for yourself and more over about yourself.?

That’s why you should learn to free your mind, and a good tip to do so, is for every thought, idea, decision… given by your mind, ask yourself, is there a second option?

Go through this process of elaborating a second option for every situation, and you’ll train your mind to explore new areas, new connections inside yourself and open for you new potential, which is in fact your potential, from your inside Self.

TIP n° 3: Trust your intuition

The best way your Self talk to you is through your intuition and it is always true. But when you are not trained to listen to it and trust it, you’ll receive it mixed with noise which get things messed up.

A good method to train on listening and trusting your intuition is to stop being so hesitant about things. The more you make quick decisions, the more confident you became in yourself and in your intuition. And the more you became intuitive, the more you became decisive. Which make it a virtuous cycle.

TIP n° 4: Learn to distinguish between your Self and your Ego

Your Ego is here to protect you, but he’s not you. Yet he can sometimes harm you rather than helping you. That’s why you should all the time be aware of him and be able taking over him.



To make the distinguishment, look at your feelings. Negative ones are usually from your Ego and positive ones comes from your Self.

Running between your past and your future, between history and mystery, and worse between your wounds and your fears, that's what your ego is doing all the time. STOP IT!

Just stop being the Slave of your Past and your Future. Listen to Your Self through ‘‘the Sound of Silence’’. And become the Commander of your Present.

Because your present is your present!
