In this edition, we go Inside the Mind of Emily Wurramara who takes us through the ups and downs of her mental health journey throughout her career, and shares advice for other creatives who may be facing challenges of their own.?
Ocean Grove’s lead vocalist, Dale Tanner, discusses his recent healthy touring habits, and we also share some questions to reflect on when on the road, to assist you in making your touring experience as enjoyable and healthy as possible.

“Throughout my years up until probably 2017 there were no discussions around mental health, protecting your energy, boundaries, or anything of that sort.”
In this edition of Inside the Mind of, Warnindilyakwa woman Emily Wurramara shares her mental health journey and the struggles that she has encountered.
“From that tender age to now, I’ve been subjected to racism, homophobia, misogyny, harassment, sexual abuse, and bullying. The majority of that is still happening.”
In the full story, Emily talks through what she’s learned along the way, how important creating music is to her and how rewarding it is to know that her music is helping others too.
HEALTHY TOURING WITH DALE TANNER
“I challenged myself to drink zero alcohol for the? duration of the 5 week tour - 22 shows across 33 days. That’s the kind of schedule that can really? catch up to you if you’re having late nights and battling hangovers.”
Lead singer of punk rock outfit Ocean Grove, Dale Tanner, recently went on a five week tour supporting Polaris, and decided to put some healthy touring habits to the test.?
“I’d hit the stage feeling warm and energised and for something I initially thought may tire? me out as the tour went on, the running and exercise before the show actually had the opposite effect.”

For those who have completed the MHFA course and would like to refresh your accreditation, you can register for our upcoming refresher course happening on Friday 20 September 10am-4pm.??
Your MHFA accreditation remains valid for three years, with the refresher course extending your accreditation for a further three years.
Responding with Compassion
Our next Responding with Compassion workshop is coming up on Thursday 19 September from 10am-1pm (AEST). Run in association with Full Stop Australia , Responding with Compassion is a three-hour online workshop designed to assist those who may receive disclosures of trauma.?
