[Soul Sunday] God is ABLE!
“Happy Soul Sunday"
1 Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses. 2 He sets the time for birth and the time for death, the time for planting and the time for pulling up, 3 the time for killing and the time for healing, the time for tearing down and the time for building. 4 He sets the time for sorrow and the time for joy, the time for mourning and the time for dancing, 5 the time for making love and the time for not making love, the time for kissing and the time for not kissing. 6 He sets the time for finding and the time for losing, the time for saving and the time for throwing away, 7the time for tearing and the time for mending, the time for silence and the time for talk. 8 He sets the time for love and the time for hate, the time for war and the time for peace. 9 What do we gain from all our work? 10 I know the heavy burdens that God has laid on us. 11 He has set the right time for everything. He has given us a desire to know the future, but never gives us the satisfaction of fully understanding what he does. 12 So I realized that all we can do is be happy and do the best we can while we are still alive. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-12)
Dreamer, you see, the first reading of this text is really simple; it appears to be a simple series of opposites.?We know that opposites attract.?But in this text, the writer is utilizing the striking effects of opposites to play a contrast. Further and a much closer look at the text finds more. This is a roadmap. A roadmap?to show you the way, the direction, the best option.?
Hey Dreamer, God is Able: but in order to enter a new season, we must let go of the last season. We?are?in the midst?of fully letting go of summer even though the calendar says fall. In our household, we hold out turning on the heat until November 1. Well, that's right around the corner.
What do you need to let go of to embrace what’s next??Maybe it is baggage, it is a bad habit, it is clutter, it is stinking thinking. Maybe it's just the familiar, your comfort zone, the lie you've been believing. Let’s pull it even closer. Maybe it’s television, shopping, disorganization, lack of focus, lack of goals, lack of a clear purpose, or a lack of believing in your dreams.?Well, it’s time to do a 360….and leave those thoughts behind.?It’s time to trust your unknown future to a known God.?Today, trust God and allow Him to write your perfect ending.?
Let Us Pray...Lord, we magnify your name not just because you are worthy but because you are able. Lord,?thank you for your grace and mercy. Lord, thank you for a new direction, and new inspiration or reach for our dreams, and act on our goals and manifest every blessing you have in store for us. In Jesus’ name. Amen and Amen.
