[Soul Sunday] A Broken Clock Is Right Twice a Day!

Hey Dreamer, Happy Sunday!

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.”?(Psalm 23 NKJV)

?

I've heard that even a broken clock is right twice a day.?It's days like this that I really feel the weight of that statement. As so, much of my coaching is related to connecting with others. Some call it networking. Also, it can be linking up, talking, collaborating, liaising or simply meeting up.?Whatever you call it, meeting face to face has been a challenge the last two plus years, first due to the pandemic, and social distancing and that roller coaster we are still on. Now it's due to fear. Yes, fear going to a concert, the hospital, a parade, the grocery store, the mall, the gas station, or even to go to school.?Is it right or wrong to feel this way.... well even a broken clock is right twice a day.?

Dreamer, I am not going to tell you how you should feel, but I want to, in fact, I need to leave you with hope.?

Hope to know that God will lead you towards green pastures, where there is hope and safety, where you can be free from fear.?God, in this common and well known passage of scripture, is showing us how to calm our fear, how to reset, renew and reclaim our peace.?And this, my friend, is my hope for you today!

?As the world continues to scramble to figure out what to do next, this Psalm of David reminds us that no matter what we face, we do not have to respond in fear. Many scholars call this Psalm a “song of trust,” because David is able to express his total trust in God’s goodness even in the face of adversity. It is also interesting to note that David may have experienced tremendous suffering in the Psalm right before this one. Psalm 22 begins with “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Yet, Psalm 23 has a completely different tone. If these Psalms were written chronologically, perhaps when David remembered how God delivered him from his suffering in Psalm 22, he was able to trust God in Psalm 23!

So here and now, pause to think back to a time, when God delivered you from something (pain, loss, despair or disease). These might look like job loss, divorce, death, failing health, sleepless nights, surgery, court battle, financial crisis and on and on and on.

We walk through the valley of the shadow of death....we will fear no evil; for God is with us, even when our clock is wrong.?

Questions:?How has God delivered you in the past? Do you trust God now?

Let Us Pray:??Dear God, thank you for delivering me from ______________. I trust you now, so have your way Lord, Lord Have Your Way! Amen.?

Meditation/Journal:?My faith produces more faith, love, peace and joy!
