Soul Searching - What are we here for?
Does it happen to you that you zone out at times thinking what are you doing? Is this really what you wanted to do? Is this what we are here for?
The thing with deep thoughts is that they want you to get into a very different world mentally, forgetting what’s around you, who’s around you and is a very long process.
It needs a personal set up.
A glass of wine | Soft music | Sea shore | Mountains | Sunrise/Sunset | Star gazing | Praying | Meditating | Night-out with friends | Date with someone special |
100 means to get there, but why don’t we get there?
The steps are hard.
The process requires you to invest in it.
It needs patience.
Most either get distracted, fall asleep, or most of them, don’t want to reach to their real other side.
#1 Externalize
When in not so happy zone, the first thing one does is externalize.
“My boss / company is to blame for this.”
“They made it because of their background. My circumstances are different.”
“This is how the world works, it’s always been unfair.”
#2 Chuck it
Nothing is going to change here, so let’s leave it. Most have lived this way, I am no different. It happens to everyone.
#3 Clutter
Once you move away from externalizing, the first few thoughts are just clutter.
I didn’t finish that presentation. I forgot to tell boss about this meeting. I didn’t pay that bill. I need to give a call to that person tomorrow. I didn’t get the grocery.
#4 Chuck it
This will keep going on. Let’s not deviate.
#5 It’s Personal
Internalization needs self-awareness.
Self-awareness is a struggle.
Struggle is very personal.
#6 Personal life
Ones who reach this stage, first think of people around them.
Spouse, kids, parents, friends, team, colleagues.
#7 Regrets
When thinking of people, it takes one to the past. One who isn’t with you today. The one you broke up with. The one who broke up with you. The ones you fought with. The ones that moved on.
#8 Forgive / Forget
In your mind you seek forgiveness, never having the courage to face them again.
Few who wronged you, you forgive, few you just want to forget.
#9 People who matter.
Brings back to people who are around.
The ones that you want to spend more time with.
The ones who you want to meet before you die.

The ones who you never want to die.
#10 Am I doing enough?
When it comes to your near & dear ones, you never feel you have done enough.
I could have done more. I can do more.
Guilt says they have done more for you.
#11 I need to do something for them.
You recollect all their sacrifices. Makes you emotional.
You never wanted them to go through all of that.
I need to change things. They deserve better.
#12 What can I do to make them happy?
All they want is me to be happy.
#13 What makes me happy?
(This is why we are doing this.)
#14 Is this what I wanted to do?
I always had a plan, but maybe life had different plans.
I should have tried harder. Should have put more efforts to do what I really wanted to do.
#15 Where did I go wrong?
While growing up, I was so clear as to what I wanted to do.
What just happened? (Life happened)
Why can’t I go back to doing that?
It’s risky now, there are responsibilities.
But that childhood or adulthood dream is what you were always meant for.
#16 False promise
“Let’s see if something comes up now, I will surely try it. Not going to miss the bus now.”
#17 Let’s sleep now.
Tomorrow will be a better day.
If reaching till here made you sleep, tomorrow won’t be better.
If it didn’t let you sleep, tomorrow might be better.
?
Never too late to start. That dream can still be true. It’s just waiting for you to start.
Duniya ki kashmakash me, kyu tu bheed ka sirf ek hissa ban ke reh gaya hai,
Kyu wo kuch kar gujarne ka sapna, bas ek kissa banke reh gaya hai..
Thaan le ki wo sapna tujhe fir se jeena hai,
Cheen le zamaane se, jo zamane ne tujhse cheena hai
