Susan Jeffers's great book Feel the Fear & Do It Anyway? has been very helpful in the development of many people, including mine. Her work has helped me a lot in my work. And then there were the books by Thich Nhat Hanh and the ancient Hawaiian modality Ho'oponopono that serve me to pass through adversities.
For many of you out there, selling could be a horrible experience and you refuse to go down that path. The truth is that in everything you do - whether it's getting a job, convincing someone to go out with you or closing a deal - you have to sell.
When I started my consultancy business, I had to learn to sell. Many people say salespeople are liars, the scum of the earth and only out to make a quick buck. I too was of this opinion until I learned to see sales as a means to help others. At this point I must express my gratitude to Jeffrey Gitomer and Arjun Aiyar; both taught me how to distinguish a hard sell from a sell with heart. The sales profession is despised by many and perceived as aggressive and inconsiderate.
In this fast-paced world leaders, teams, and change-makers face the fear of change, confusion and conflict. Most of them struggle due to their unwholesome communication styles that can inflame passion for toxicity and divide people. As technology advances rapidly and reshapes the way we work and live, leaders, teams and change-makers need to be wholesome with their communication in this ever-changing landscape.
I encourage leaders, teams, and change-makers to embrace conflicts, enrich relationships and tap into their emotional wisdom by mastering their communication. They develop impactful and wise communication skills. Thus applying courage, clarity, conviction, and compassion to become informative, influential, and inspirational.
