The guy in the video is a man named David Letterman, he used to be a pretty big deal in late night TV and the thing he holds in his hand is a compact disc(CD) that was going to forever change the music business by making music more portable, more durable and better sounding. I put a 12 disc CD change in my car and thought I had all the music in the world with me back then...Just more proof in the relativity of everything!
