SOS-(Election VS Selection)

The election held on February 8th, 2024, in Pakistan saw the active participation of the public as they exercised their democratic right to vote. However, concerns arose regarding the integrity of the electoral process due to the reported involvement of security forces and returning officers, who allegedly acted in accordance with predetermined directives, thereby casting doubt on the fairness of the election. Despite widespread manipulation and pre-determined outcomes, the collective voice of the nation, united under the slogan "Zulm Ka Badla Vote Say" (Seeking justice through the vote), couldn't significantly alter the distribution of seats, particularly in KPK.
From the outset, there were obstacles hindering fair competition, with the banning of PTI from campaigning and even holding corner meetings, depriving them of the opportunity to promote their platform under their party symbol, the 'BAT.' Throughout the election process, PTI faced various forms of intimidation, including attacks on their polling camps, residences, harassment of polling agents, and returning officers.
Although efforts were made to stage a facade of legitimacy, including the presence of international observers, reports indicate that the results were altered through coercion and fraudulent voting, resulting in over 50 seats initially won by PTI (Independents) being redistributed to other parties. This manipulation, disregarding the genuine will of the electorate, stands in stark contradiction to democratic principles.
In an age dominated by advancements in science and technology, evidence of irregularities during the election abounds on social media platforms, shedding light on the irresponsible and negligent conduct that marred the electoral process. It is imperative that this issue be raised at the international level, emphasizing the violations of democracy, human rights, and justice in Pakistan.
