Sorry seems to be the hardest word.

Sorry seems to be the hardest word.

To my dearest readers,

Please accept my heartfelt apology for abandoning you last month and missing my eagerly awaited monthly newsletter.

Wait… what do you mean you didn’t notice? WHAT? You mean I’m NOT the centre of your universe? How rude.

In all seriousness though, I managed to catch bloody Covid and it knocked me out for a few weeks. I’m fine now though!

So, here’s a little update.

THE BIG MOVE

I did it, we are now official residents of the north(ish)! As stressful as moving house has been, I am?SO excited?to be starting this fresh chapter. It's been a month now and the decorating has commenced, my son is loving his new school, we've met lots of new friends, but I'm still refusing to have gravy on my chips (YUCK!)

Speaking of the north, the?LinkedIn Summer Party?is happening on June 10th 2022 at?Namii?in Manchester City Centre! Get your tickets?here?and join me and the wonderful LinkedIn community for?the event of the summer,?it’s not one to miss. Included in your ticket price is drinks (wine, beer, soft drinks) and yummy food, plus a charitable donation to?Forever Manchester,?supporting families across Manchester.

LINKEDIN MASTERCLASS IN AID OF THE UKRAINE CRISIS

No alt text provided for this image

I teamed up with fellow LinkedIn experts?Ariel Lee,?Richard van der Blom,?Michelle J Raymond,?Andy Foote,?and?John Espirian?to deliver an epic LinkedIn masterclass webinar. With the support of the LinkedIn community, we raised £40,000 for the Ukraine refugees in association with?Hope4.?You can still purchase the recording here for just £30 and proceeds are still being donated to help?Chris?and?Zoe Lomas?to support women and children fleeing Ukraine into Moldova.

I would like to say a massive thank you also to?The Experience Collective?- I am?SO grateful?for their help with running the event! They stepped in at the last minute when it became apparent the webinar was going to have far more attendees than expected. The team made the presentation seamless and professional!

THE MARKETING MEETUP

I was lucky enough to hang out with Shield Rockstar?Pragya Mishra?for? The Marketing Meetup?with?Joe Glover. We discussed all things LinkedIn and smashing your personal brand, I had such a fun time! You can see a quick summary of the webinar in this amazing drawing, created by the talented?Hannah Williams of Scribble Inc.?If you'd like to watch it back on YouTube, it's?right here.?Thank you to all of those involved and the 700 people who watched live!

THE WIZE

I have written a second article containing LinkedIn tips, for legal magazine The Wize. Want to have a sneaky peak? Grab your copy by signing up?here?and it’ll ping straight into your inbox.

THE SOCIAL MEDIA STRUGGLE

I have started to produce lots more Instagram and Tiktok content to attract a different type of clientele to what I do. It’s fun, but it’s a struggle because I still?HATE?creating video. I’ve also been posting basically anything in my head over on Twitter. Hope Elon likes it. Are you on any other social platforms??You can find all my others here:

LINKEDIN TRAINING

No alt text provided for this image

Erm, well unbelievably, I’m almost entirely booked up until July.?You all seem to be ultra keen to up your LinkedIn game this year! I announced the other day that I will stop offering 1-1 training at the end of this year, because I’m focusing more on corporate groups and team training days. It’s heart wrenching, because I adore 1-1s, but they’re also very time and effort intensive, which is something I need to move away from as the business develops.

Add a few personal lines at the bottom of your ‘About’ section that break the ice. Let people know a little bit about you, and ideally, something that will make them smile.?If you make someone smile, they relax, and if you do that right before a call to action, like inviting them to get in touch, they’re more likely to do so.?Check?mine?out for some inspiration.

Struggling for content ideas and feeling a bit uninspired? I got you!

What is an unexpected fact about you people would never guess? Share something about you that surprises people! This could be a career fact or a personal life fact.?Ask your network to share something unexpected about themselves.

What’s the biggest lesson you learned in your first year of your career / business? What advice would you give yourself now? How would this advice have made things easier for you??Ask your network?what advice they would give themselves in the beginning of their career / business?

I love to support other businesses and creators who make LinkedIn an enjoyable place to be (for me). Here are my?TOP FOLLOWS?this month!

Alexandra Soame

Alexandra is an incredible Virtual Event EMC, Designer & Producer at The Experience Collective. This month she has helped me massively by providing technical support for the LinkedIn Masterclass in aid of Ukraine. She provided professional and personable support - I couldn’t recommend her services enough!

Sam Fox

Sam from The Warrington Mortgage Company has been a lifeline throughout the highly stressful process of purchasing a house. He and his team went above and beyond my expectations, supporting me and communicating clearly through every stage of the process.?I honestly would have fallen apart without them! Thank you endlessly WMC, and I hope you liked the brownies!

Darren Pallatina

I saw some of?Darren’s?work on LinkedIn recently, and grabbed him (not literally). His banners are beautiful, and he charges far too little for the quality he produces. If you’ve been looking for a fabulous new banner for your LinkedIn profile, Darren is your man.

That’s it for April (and March), but I am finding I have so much to say that I’m considering a biweekly or even weekly newsletter. Let me know if you’d like me in your inbox every week!

Have a beautiful weekend, everyone!
