Sorry AI, I'm going to keep bringing the human back.

I used chat GPT to help write our last article.
I had the broad data collated from coffee catch ups with placed candidates, podcast discussions after and before episodes and also through attending industry events.
One of the connections in my network reached out offering to give me tips about how to use chat GPT in a way that was more authentic, more genuine and hit the mark.?
It got me thinking.
I love writing.
However, keeping up with value adding content and continuing to engage with an audience while running a business can seem to fall in the too hard basket after a hectic day.
I love meeting people, learning deep insights about them and being able to either add value personally to connect them with others who will expand their business, career or possibilities.
In a world where everything is moving digital, and AI can be an alluring time saver- what are ways we can keep bringing the human side back into our business?
?Meeting in person.
I’m not talking about a little room or booth in a big CBD based office where you’ve paid $50 for parking but rather a coffee shop as two mutual people exchanging business ideas, career goals and connecting with each other.
?Actively listening and adding value.
Thinking beyond the transaction in business and helping even when there is no immediate gain for you in terms of revenue or work in hand. It brings forward a lot of goodwill when you actively go out of your way to help another person achieve their goals without any expectation in return.

Attend and facilitate events.
Some of the best experiences I’ve had through attending or organising events for charity/ NAWIC advocacy or schools/scholarships engagement has provided a benefit to our business sometimes years later. Whether that be a podcast guest, a potential candidate for a role or a client who remembered a panel discussion- events will still be a pivotal way of connecting at a larger scale.
As for me, I promise to you to keep the content real and to only write when I have something to say.
I also promise to keep remembering why I started.
No matter how busy things get I will continue to give back to the industry and people who have served me and my family for many years through trusting me to find their dream careers or next pivotal hire.
It’s a privilege.
I promise to keep bringing the human back in recruitment.
?Thanks for reading,
Lauren

4 个月Great commentary Lauren, totally agree. It’s the slow burn that reaps the long term results.
