Sora Opens Physics BattleGround ??

Last week, the world went berserk with the launch of OpenAI’s text-to-video generation model Sora. While many were flooding social media with prompt requests for Sam Altman to create Sora videos, and wow-ing over the generated content, AI sceptics were out to dissect the model.?

Apart from questioning the accuracy of the videos, AI experts from rival companies were questioning the whole physics part of the model and debating over the use of generative AI for video synthesis.?

Meta chief, Yann LeCunn has remarked at how people, who have contributed nothing to AI and ML, are schooling him on his take on the latest model. “Some of them, very far gone on the Dunning-Kruger scale, tell me all the ways I'm wrong, stupid, blind, ignorant, misguided, jealous, biased, out of touch, about AI and ML,” he said.

$100 Bn Bet on AI Chips

SoftBank’s CEO Masayoshi Son has announced a plan to gather a whopping $100 billion for his AI project. This move is a direct challenge to the world’s third-largest company NVIDIA, known for its computer graphic chips.?

According to Bloomberg, SoftBank wants to put $30 billion of its own money into this project and is seeking another $70 billion from investors in the Middle East.
