Soon SEO will be dead...But not yet...
Sorry to say it all, but with the birth of #chatgpt and many forms of #integratedAI starting to evolve...there is no longer be as much emphasis on Search Engine Optimization or #seo. Search engines use keywords and other factors to rank how close a request is and display the most relevant search results. Every companies plan is to try to be either specific enough or spend enough cash to be on the first page.
What most folks are used to are graphs like the one on the right showing what Google search rankings mean for your click through rate. An AI doesn't care about most of that! When making a request to ChatGPT, there is only ONE answer that will be displayed generally. This translates to either you are getting traction 100% of the time, or you're never seen at all. However...we are currently in a very interesting transitional time between when the general public starts adopting these specific AI responses and the traditional Google search.
Here are a couple ways that your company can start to utilize ChatGPT today for helping boost your rankings within Google's search results while they last.
DO NOT USE for making a bunch of bulk garbage content. I'm talking about asking ChatGPT to help come up with ideas for articles, content or video scripts. ChatGPT seems to be very good at being a soundboard, so bounce your ideas off the AI. For example:
"Write a gluten free muffin recipe that includes cranberries and cinnamon"
领英推荐
Now take this output and ask ChatGPT to create a script for a 3 minute long YouTube short, make a closed caption file for upload and all SEO tags under 500 characters total. Shoot the video, post the recipe and your video to your website and there you go. Custom created video content with SEO friendly content and tagging.
Creating a product roadmap or strategy can be as easy as starting to ask questions to clarify aspects of your company, product or marketing. A favorite use of mine for ChatGPT is the "Ask me 10 questions about XYZ" prompt. In this case, here is the example prompt I would use to get ChatGPT to start asking me questions to help me with a product marketing strategy.
"Hey ChatGPT, can you please ask me 10 questions about my product, industry, competing products and market trends for the following: A product to allow truck drivers in the midwest along I-80 to find gas stations with the best rest areas that also have access to high speed internet connections"
From here, ChatGPT will ask 10 clarifying questions to help it formulate a product strategy and roadmap as the product features, market and other information get fed into the chat. It's not magic folks, you need to do work but ChatGPT is very good at helping to condense and formulate that work into a deliverable product.
The biggest misconception that any AI prompt program has is that it will magically do the work of 10 people with half a body part time for Fiji. We aren't at that point yet in the development of AI but we sure can use the tech for helping us to outsmart and maneuver our competition. Learning to utilize ChatGPT for refining your companies current SEO, marketing strategies or other strategic elements helps to remove the difficulty and barriers of getting started with creating better SEO today. Find a couple elements of your current business that could use a facelift or will that brand new initiative survive the 10 questions test?
